A reminder that all Years 3, 5 and 7 students across Australia will be undertaking a number of national literacy and numeracy tests to assess their skills and understanding in the areas of reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy from Tuesday May 15 to Thursday May 17 2012.
The results from these test will provide parents information on individual student's achievement in relation to national standards, and also will allow us to review our programs to ensure we are meeting students' needs in relation to schools across Australia. Parents can access NAPLAN information on the following website:-
www.nap.edu.au/NAPLAN/Parent_Carer_support/index.html
An individual NAPLAN report will be sent home for every child later this year.
NAPLAN tests are one aspect of the school's assessment and reporting process, and do not replace the extrensive, ongoing assessments made by teachers about each student's performance.

Check out this YouTube video some of our students have made. It is all about how our children are demonstrating how to recycle, compost and help their school develop sustainable practices.

From time to time, we need to contact children's parents, caregivers or emergency contacts. Unfortunately we have found recently that some of these details are no longer current. Could all parents ensure that you notify the office staff as soon as possible if any of these details change.
